My Herbal Journey
My passion for all things herbal stemmed from my childhood. From a young age, I would go rambling through the Scottish landscapes with my grandparents. I played freely amongst the heather and gorged on the bountiful supply of brambles during the Autumn months. As I grew older, working in offices and living in cities, I gradually became detached from the natural world. However, experiencing troubles with my health led me back to nature. I soon began to forage daily, experiment with wild food recipes, make medicine and practice bushcraft.
After re-discovering the natural world and myself, I moved to the Southwest to pursue an education and career in Western Herbal Medicine. I trained as a Medical Herbalist at the renowned Betonica School of Herbal Medicine. This thorough four year training programme taught a scientific yet holistic approach to health care.
I proudly meet the high standards required by The National Institute of Medical Herbalists and abide by their ethics and code of practice.
I also hold the role of assistant-editorial team member for the Power of Plants magazine, NIMH’s quarterly publication.
You may have heard or seen me before. I trade at many local markets across Devon, offering my organic handmade herbal remedies. In 2023, I spoke on BBC Radio Somerset about foraging and seasonal remedies. For several years I have worked alongside paramedics in the medical tents at festivals such as the Green Gathering and Small World.
As more people are seeking private healthcare, I want to ensure it is affordable, accessible and sustainable (for us and our planet). Herbal medicine has supported me through challenging times, and so I wish to share this knowledge and empower others to make informed decisions throughout their healthcare journey. Ultimately, my goal is to help you blossom into your healthiest self.

What is Herbal Medicine?
Herbal medicine can be many things. Without being too flowery, it’s simply using plants to help one achieve optimal health (which looks different for everyone).
A simple way to improve one’s health can be through dietary changes; like increasing the spices and herbs we cook with and eat. Alternatively, you may love the outdoors and fancy dabbling with gardening or foraging. Some people adore scent; therefore, aromatherapy may be your cup of tea. Our journey to optimal health is honestly as unique as we are.
Ultimately, herbal medicine adopts a holistic approach to health care; truly listening to a patient’s needs and treating the cause of an illness not just the symptoms.
There are many forms of herbal medicine one can take, such as herbal teas, powders, tinctures (alcoholic extracts), syrups, capsules, and so on. However, a Medical Herbalist is likely to recommend enhancements to one’s diet and lifestyle, like the “Social Prescriptions” your doctor may make.
As with a doctor’s appointment, a consultation with a Medical Herbalist will be professional, confidential and non-judgemental. All medical records will be securely filed away and would only ever be shared with your GP or medical professionals with your approval.

Book a Consultation
I offer a free Introductory Call to anyone interested in booking an initial consultation.
This is a brief phone call, up to 10 minutes, to discuss your primary health concerns and our next steps forward.
What happens next?
Once you have booked an appointment, you will be sent a New Patient Intake form to complete. This short questionnaire allows you to provide more information so that you can get the most out of your initial consultation.
Please complete this form to the best of your ability at least three days before your initial appointment. Additionally, please download, read, sign and return the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy documents before your initial consultation.
The Initial Consultation
An Initial Consultation typically lasts an hour and involves a thorough intake of one’s previous medical history, different body systems, diet and lifestyle.
If necessary, I may undertake a physical examination, such as blood pressure, listen to your lungs, or press on your abdomen, to gather more information about the signs and symptoms you are presenting with.
After our discussion and any relevant examinations, I will create a bespoke healthcare plan and herbal prescription just for you.
Follow-up Consultations
Most patients return within a month of a previous appointment for a Follow-up Consultation. Follow-up appointments are approximately 30 minutes long.
Occasionally, I may ask patients to complete food or symptom diaries. Or you may have new results from a recent scan or blood test.
Follow-ups allow us to track the progress of one’s health, allow alterations to one’s treatment plan and prescription which optimally support one’s health.

Testimonials
“I was having difficulty with a hiatus hernia that was causing significant reflux and discomfort. I am already on a lot of prescription medicine so was looking for an alternative. Yasmin prescribed a wonderful tea that not only eased the discomfort, but tasted great! She was very professional and thorough, and made me feel at ease when talking about my symptoms. She’s now my go to with most things physical health.” – Rachel
“I had been struggling with painful periods for years and have recently been diagnosed with endometriosis. I am so grateful to Yasmin for the guidance and support she has provided. She is very knowledgeable and adopts a person centred approach, I felt very cared for throughout my treatment. The treatment plan she created was holistic yet practical, and the herbal medicines themselves were effective.” – Lauren
“Yasmin listened very carefully to what my needs were and was able to make useful suggestions to help me with my condition. She offered very simple but effective solutions to the problem of skin irritation caused by medicated patches – something my GP and local pharmacist could not help with. I would be happy to recommend Yasmin to anyone seeking help with their health.” – Jane
“I’ve struggled with blocked ears and chest-infections my whole life. After an initial in-depth consultation, Yasmin came up with a plan of action. She prescribed herbal remedies, suggested some changes to my diet and also recommended lymphatic drainage. This has honestly changed my life. I can not recommend Yasmin enough.” – Linda
